Job Summary
Sky Island School of Nature & the Arts seeks multiple passionate Elementary School Teachers to deliver our Origins Curriculum in a hands-on, nature-based environment. The ideal candidate will foster critical thinking and creativity in a diverse classroom.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver daily Origin lessons integrating desert biome themes and Origins focal points.
Follow schedule and transition students to multiple activities.
Use experiential activities—outdoor labs, art projects, and mindfulness exercises to engage students.
Assess and document student progress; maintain accurate records and communicate with families.
Collaborate with the Academic Director and support staff to refine curriculum and teaching methods.
Create an inclusive, safe classroom culture that supports social-emotional learning.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
Commitment to environmental stewardship, arts integration, and child-centered teaching.
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, dynamic team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education or a related field
Arizona teaching certificate
Experience in outdoor, place-based, or Montessori/experiential education.
Salary
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
